Just finished the book "The Life We Bury" and are excited to dive into more of the work by author Allen Eskens. A criminal attorney by trade, Eskens transitioned into his second career with a strong and compelling story about a college student who stumbles upon a 30-year mystery while procrastinating through an assignment.
The book was engaging all around . . . and bonus points for ample references to outstate Minnesota and our alma mater (go Gophers!)
Not to be confused with the musician of the same name, Nick Cave is an artist out of Chicago who uses his eclectic style to opine on highly somber subjects. His exhibition, Forothermore, includes works such as his hanging metallic mobiles (Spinner Forest) and his stunning collection of Soundsuits.
Hurry if you want to see this art on display, though, as his exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Chicago will only be viewable through October 2.
